Built with real science

Every planet, moon, and orbit in We Are Small is based on real astronomical data:

  • Orbital distances are scaled from actual AU measurements
  • Planet sizes are proportionally accurate relative to each other
  • Rotation periods match real-world values
  • Orbital periods follow Kepler's laws
  • Textures are derived from NASA imagery

The simulation runs in real time by default, but you can speed it up to watch years pass in seconds.

We Are Small runs in any modern web browser using WebGL. There is nothing to download or install. It works on desktop computers, laptops, and tablets with a keyboard.
